The Gift of a House

At age 25, I was a single mother of two small children ages four and five. I cleaned houses for income, while going to college. We lived in a small two-bedroom apartment, and money was really tight. The Fu family, a family I cleaned for, needed to relocate because of better opportunities in their careers. Whey they moved, they allowed my little family of three to move into their big home and live there free while they put the house on the market to sell. What a wonderful reprieve that year was both emotionally and financially. For the first time since becoming a single mom, I didn’t have to worry about making ends meet, and I was actually able to save some money. What a wonderful gift they gave us – a beautiful place to come home to, space to spread out and live more comfortably, and a reprieve from financial worry.

Thank you from a grateful mother.

The Fu family could have easily opted some income, but then again they were that kind of family.

Sometimes I think we don't realize what single parents have to deal with. Then again, they probably appreciate the little things in life more.

Hi Dear- I was raised by a single mom with 3 kiddos. I cannot imagine the relief my mom and we would have experienced with this kind of opportunity. Glad for you and yours and lifting a prayer to surround the Fu family with the white light wherever they are now. May their careers be blessed.
