About a month ago I was a boy searching for a job, looking in all the wrong places. I had no luck at all. After a phone call from a friend telling me that she had gotten a job at Riverwind Casino, I was determined to do the same. The next day I drove to the casino with my hopes floating up in the clouds. I applied on the computer, and also talked to a new hire counselor. I soon found out that no jobs were available, and that I was doomed to be unemployed for the rest of my life.

Later that week I received a phone call from my friend’s mom, the same friend who was previously hired at the casino. She explained to me that she was the marketing director at the casino, and it just so happens that was the department I had applied under. She continued to tell me that she was going through applications and saw my name. She trusted me as a person, and told me the job was mine. Now I work at the casino and am very happy with my job. The act of kindness that my friend’s mom did for me means a lot. She went out of her way to recommend me to her co-workers, and for that I am very grateful.
