Everyday in the morning I used to walk to school when I was in the fifth grade in elementary. One morning I woke up, got dressed, and started my day walking to school. I was almost to school, when I saw an older lady walking carrying a lot of groceries in her hands. I saw that she was struggling and almost could not make it to her house. I didn't know the lady but I would always see her sitting outside her house every morning on my way to school. So I went up to her and asked her if she needed help and she happily responded yes. She only lived three blocks ahead so I figured I wouldn't be late.
I started walking with her to her house with her groceries. They were pretty heavy so I knew there was no way she was going to make it home. So when we got to her house she thanked me and told me I was very kind to do that. Before I left she stopped me and asked me if I was going to be late and I looked at my watch and I saw that I was already five minutes late to school but I lied to her and told her I wasn’t going to be late so she wouldn’t feel bad.
The whole day at school I felt good about helping the lady because I would have felt bad if I hadn’t helped her. So every day in the morning when I passed by her house she would be outside on her porch and we would wave to each other before I got to school.
