What does it mean to do good or show kindness to others? Well, most people think that buying gifts is all it takes, but that is really not it; this is just a part of it. I personally haven’t done anything really spectacular for anybody but I have done quite a few good things though. I have had a lot of people do things for me that are hard to believe.

The most recent help that really stunned me, I got from someone about a month ago. I was driving home from a friend’s house, and it was late at night. I didn’t notice that my car was out of oil. When I found out my car was out of oil it was too late to do anything because my car was starting to slow down and it eventually stopped running. Now I’m stuck on the highway late at night and my phone is dead so I couldn’t call anybody for help. I decided I was going to walk down to the closest gas station, which was about two miles away, to buy oil. But to my surprise, a truck pulled up next to me and asked if I needed help. I hesitated because I didn’t want to get in a car with a total stranger but I finally got in the truck. She took it upon herself to take me down to the gas station, and she actually paid for the oil that I was going to buy. She drove me back to my car and waited to make sure my car was running after I added the oil.

I didn’t really know how to thank her for all she did because I knew that no amount of words could show how much I appreciated what she did. I sent her a thank you card that really showed how I felt.

Now that is what I consider kindness; not the part were I sent her a thank you card, but the part were she stopped and offered to help me. I hope that in the near future I will show someone else kindness that will overwhelm them.
